Police have confirmed the death of a man in a Runwell mental health unit.
Around 11am on Sunday, August 19, police were called by ambulance teams to Brockfield House in Runwell, near Wickford, which provides mental health services for those between 18 and 65 years old.
A man had become unwell and sadly died, with his death being treated as unexpected but not suspicious.
Enquiries into a cause are ongoing.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "We were called by the ambulance service to man becoming unwell and, sadly, dying at Brockfield House in Runwell shortly after 11am on Sunday 19 August.
“The man’s death is being treated as unexpected but not suspicious.
“Enquiries are taking place to establish the cause of the man’s death.”
Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust were contacted for comment but declined.
