A person has been rushed to hospital after a crash involving a car and a cyclist on a major road in Westcliff.
Emergency services were called to London Road, near Chalkwell Park, after reports of the crash yesterday afternoon. The crash involved a car and a cyclist.
Several ambulances, along with an air ambulance, quickly arrived at the scene.
The air ambulance was seen landing in Chalkwell Park at approximately 3:30pm yesterday.
As a result of the crash, one patient was transported to Southend Hospital for further treatment.
The extent of the person's injuries has yet to be confirmed.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called just after 3.30pm with reports of a road traffic collision on London Road in Westcliff involving a car and a cyclist.
“Three ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.
"One patient was transported by road to Southend University Hospital for further care.”
