CLOUDS of smoke have been spotted at the end of Southend Pier amid reports of a "small fire" at one of its huts.
A video from a visitor on the attraction shows smoke billowing from the beach hut at the end of the 1.3-mile structure.
A man can be seen rushing to the hut with what appears to be a fire extinguisher in his hands.
According to visitor Lee Jay, who shared the video, the "small fire" is now under control thanks to the quick-thinking workers on the pier.
He shared on X - formerly Twitter: "Went to see the pirate ship at the end of the pier and there ended up being a small fire at the end of it.
"Luckily under control now thanks to the quick actions of the pier crew."
