Two people were rushed to Southend Hospital following a crash "involving three cars" in a Benfleet main road.
The crash, which happened in Benfleet High Road around 6pm yesterday is believed to have involved three cars.
Ambulance crews rushed two people to Southend Hospital, with the road closed for around two hours according to witnesses.
Two ambulances were sent to the scene, alongside police and fire crews.
A spokesman for East of England Ambulance Service said: "Two ambulances were sent to High Road South Benfleet following reports of a road traffic collision.
"Two patients were transported to Southend University Hospital for further assessment and care."
