Southend has witnessed a successful "takeover" by the city's Special Constables.
The Specials, as volunteer officers are known, dedicated their time in supporting their full-time counterparts to ensuring the safety of their community.
The team was highly visible, using their fully enriched training and skills to handle an number of incidents.
On the day, these volunteer officers dealt with incidents including common assault, a disturbance, and domestic abuse.
They also attended to one missing person, two abandoned 999 calls, one concern for welfare, a suspected arson case, and a fight.
A spokesman for Essex Police added: "In addition, the team reported two drivers for no insurance, one for no driving licence and seized a car for no insurance in an effort to keep Southend’s roads safe.
"Being a volunteer officer, means you can bring skills help and reassure the public when you attend an incident."
