A POPULAR High Street café has re-opened after an exciting facelift – including new touch screens and a freshly baked pastry range.
Costa Coffee, in Billericay High Street, closed earlier this month so bosses could carry out renovation works inside and outside the store.
The new-look Costa includes a touch screen ordering point and dedicated collection point for customers as well as a refreshed counter and modern seating to help offer a quicker and comfier experience.
Coupled with “locally inspired artwork”, new décor and comfortable furniture, the café is promising to be the ideal place for the community to meet and relax.
Billericay resident Andrew Stevens feels that the overhaul was needed given the “dirty and dusty” former premises.
He said: “A coffee shop is about the experience of working in it and it hasn’t always been good. The seating in there was often limiting, there were few seats and dividers in the place and it was dirty and dusty.
“I get the impression it was quite rundown and they felt the need to step up with café Nero opposite.
“Everyone wants a good showing for themselves and while I do appreciate the attractive space it now has on the High Street, do we need so many competing services offering the same thing?
“There are a lot of nice things to say about it, it looks nice and there were issues and they’re fixed, but there are other things I want for the High Street.”
David Gabsi, area manager at Costa Coffee, said: “We’re excited to welcome the local community to our newly transformed Billericay store.
“With a fresh bakery range, state-of-the-art touch screen ordering and a vibrant new interior, our uplifted Billericay store is a perfect spot for customers to relax, connect and enjoy a delicious cup of Costa coffee.”
The Billericay Costa is open from 6am to 6pm Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm on Saturday and 7.30am to 5pm on Sunday.
