Motorists on the M25 are facing severe delays this morning, with traffic grinding to a near halt on the major road.
National Highway say that two of four lanes are closed due to a crash on the anticlockwise carriageway between Junction 29 (Romford) and Junction 28 (Brentwood).
The delays, currently stretching up to 75 minutes, have been steadily increasing throughout the morning.
Average speeds on this section of the motorway have plummeted to just five miles per hour, causing significant disruptions for motorists in the area.
A spokesman for National Highways said: "The M25 anticlockwise between J29 and J28, lanes one and two are closed due to a collision.
"We are reporting delays of 75 minutes on approach to the incident.
"Please plan ahead if travelling in the area, this morning."
