A MAN sadly died despite the best effort of paramedics after being found unresponsive in Southend at the weekend, the ambulance service has confirmed.
Residents reported seeing a large emergency services presence in Southchurch Avenue on Sunday evening after the man was found unresponsive on the pavement.
The ambulance service was called to the Southend street at 9.37pm, with an air ambulance, ambulance and rapid response vehicle all sent to the scene.
Sadly, a man died at the scene.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called at 9.37pm on Sunday, September 1 with reports of a person who was unresponsive in Southchurch Avenue, Southend.
"We sent Essex and Herts Air Ambulance, an ambulance and a rapid response vehicle.
"Sadly, despite our best efforts, one man died at the scene."
