Three people were rushed to hospital following a crash behind Basildon Station that saw firefighters rescue a trapped person.
The crash, that involved two cars at 8.23pm in Station Way, Basildon, saw one person rescued by firefighters after being trapped in their vehicle.
Three ambulances and an ambulance officer vehicle were sent to the scene of the crash.
A spokesman for East of England Ambulance Trust said: "We were called at 8.23pm yesterday with reports of a collision in Station Way, Basildon.
"We sent three ambulances and an ambulance officer vehicle.
"Two people were taken to Basildon and Thurrock Hospital for further care and one person was taken to Broomfield Hospital."
