The M25 was partially closed following a crash involving a lorry and a car.
National Highways issued a warning to motorists following a crash at around 4.26am this morning that forced the closure of the M25 between J29 Upminster and J30 toward Thurrock and Dartford.
A spokesman from National Highways East said: "Closure is due to a collision involving a lorry and a car.
"Emergency services are arriving at the scene."
The Met Police are carrying out an investigation into the crash and National Highways traffic officers and contractors are assisting with the road closures.
The stretch of the M25 remains closed pending further updates.
