Chaos reportedly erupted on Southend High Street last night as bricks and tiles were hurled from the roof of a building.
Witnesses described seeing bricks and tiles being thrown from the roof above Specsavers in Southend High Street just after 8pm.
Photos show several police cars and officers on the scene shortly after.
Witnesses claim that a Deliveroo driver, and a man on a bike, narrowly avoided being struck by the bricks.
Unconfirmed reports state that Essex Police made arrests at the scene.
Essex Police has been contacted for comment by the Echo on this.
