Three suspects wearing balaclavas entered a store in Basildon and demanded mobile phones during an attempted burglary.
Essex Police were called to the O2 Store, in Town Square, Basildon, at around 10:17am on Friday morning.
This was following reports of an attempted burglary.
Officers say there were three suspects wearing balaclavas who entered the store and demanded mobile phones.
The suspects left prior to officers arriving and nothing was stolen.
A spokesman added that "enquiries remain ongoing".
