Part of the A13 has been closed westbound following reports of a serious crash earlier today.

The A13 Southchurch Road closure is in place from Bellevue Avenue to Southchurch Avenue.

According to AA Traffic News, the road has been shut since approximately 11:30am, with authorities carrying out crash investigation work at the scene.

Details about the crash, including the number of vehicles involved and potential injuries, have not yet been confirmed.

Despite the closure, traffic in the area is reported to be coping well, as drivers are being redirected via alternative routes.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible and plan their journeys accordingly.
