Canvey's Post Office is set to face a two week closure to make way for a refurbishment from this weekend.
The Post Office, in 25 Canvey High Street. will be closed to allow the work to be carried out from Saturday September 21 at 5.30pm.
It is estimated that the extensive building work will take just over two weeks and the branch is due to re-open on Wednesday October 9 at 9am.
Mohammed Islam, Post Office area change manager, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers during the work.
"The safety of our customers is of paramount, therefore, to allow for the building work to take place, it is necessary for the service to close temporarily.”
During the interim, alternative branches include the Canvey Post Office on 271 High Street and the Canvey Village Post Office in 2 Craven Avenue.
