A man has been charged in connection with a break-in at a Co-op store in Wickford.
Police were called to the store in St Peters Terrace, London Road at around 10am on Sunday September 22, with police officers quickly attending
A vehicle believed to be involved failed to stop for them on the A12 and was later stopped and a man was arrested.
Tasavur Raja, 34, of Sackville Gardens, Ilford, has now been charged with theft, common assault, aggravated taking of a vehicle without consent, dangerous driving, driving without insurance, and driving while disqualified.
He is due to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court today, Tuesday September 24.
A police spokesman said: "Police enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
