A NUMBER of motorists have been banned from the roads for a range of driving offences this month.

A DRINK driver caught behind the wheel in a major shopping street has been hit with a driving ban.

Rares Mateiciuc, of Samuel Road, Langdon Hills, was driving a Peugeot in Regent Street, Westminster, when he was found with 70 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on July 27.

The 34-year-old admitted the offence at Westminster Magistrates’ Court last Friday where he was banned from driving for a year and six months.

He must also pay a £252 fine, £85 in prosecution costs and a £101 surcharge to fund victim services.


A WOMAN caught at almost 20 miles per hour above the limit on a motorway has been hit with a ban.

Verity Sawyer, of Prittlewell Square, Southend, was driving a Mercedes on the M23 in South Nutfield, in Surrey, when she was caught going at 67 miles per hour on December 10 last year.

The limit is 50.

She admitted the offence at Guildford Magistrates’ Court on Monday, September 16 and was banned from driving for six months.

The 54-year-old was also fined £115 and ordered to pay a £46 surcharge to fund victim services.


AN uninsured driver also caught behind the wheel while drunk has been banned from the roads for more than three years.

Ryan Brown, of Rosberg Road, Canvey, was driving a Cheverolet Matiz on Old Steine in Brighton - without insurance or a licence - when he was found with 54 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on July 14.

The 52-year-old admitted the offences at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, September 12, where he was banned from driving for three years and four months.

Brown was also fined £120, ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs and a £48 surcharge.


A MOTORIST caught on the roads without insurance or a licence has been hit with a driving ban.

Emmanuel Asante, 34, of Kingswood Road, Basildon, was driving a Jaguar XF in Hither Green Lane, Lewisham, when he was found without a licence or insurance covering the car on December 16 last year.

He admitted the offences earlier this year and appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, September 12, where he was banned from driving for six months, fined £576, ordered to pay £110 in costs and a £230 surcharge.


A MAN who refused to hand a driver’s details to police has been banned from the roads for half a year.

John McCarthy, of Oak Lane, Billericay, failed to give information to Gwent Police relating to the identification of a Ford Transit van driver who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence on March 20.

The offence was proved via the single justice procedure and McCarthy was banned from driving for six months at Newport Magistrates’ Court.

The 39-year-old has also been fined £660 and ordered to pay a £264 surcharge and £90 prosecution costs.


A SPEEDING driver caught above the limit in a main road has been hit with a ban.

Anthony Dawson, of Worthing Road, Basildon, was driving in Burnham Road in Althorne when he was caught going above the 30 mile per hour limit on September 3 last year, Basildon Magistrates' Court heard.

The 36-year-old admitted the offence on Tuesday, September 3, when he was banned from driving for 28 days.

He was also fined £667, ordered to pay a £266 surcharge and £110 prosecution costs. 


A DRINK driver caught on the roads in Basildon has also been handed a driving ban.

Tinotenda Chipembere, of Tangham Walk, Basildon, was driving a Grey Mercedes in Church Road when he was found with 44 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on July 14. The limit is 35.

The 32-year-old admitted the offence and was banned from driving for 12 months at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, September 3.

He must also pay a £120 fine, £85 prosecution costs and a £48 surcharge, the court ordered.


A MAN who failed to give information to police in Billericay has been banned for half a year.

Isreal Margalit, 31, failed to give information to the Chief Officer of Essex Police relating to the driver of a Honda who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence on December 18 last year, Basildon Magistrates' Court heard.

The offence was proved via the single justice procedure earlier this year and Margalit, of Fairview Road, Tottenham, in London, was banned from driving for six months on Tuesday, September 3.

He was also ordered to pay a £660 fine and prosecution costs of £110. 


A VAN driver caught above the drink drive limit in Basildon has been banned from the roads for more than a year.

Oktay Aykac, 39, was driving a Ford Transit van on the A127 when he was found with 74 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on July 15. The limit is 35.

Aykac, of Bolton Road, Tottenham, in London, admitted the offence at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, September 3 where he was banned from driving for a year and five months.

He was also ordered to pay a £196 fine, prosecution costs of £85 and a surcharge to fund victim services of £78.


A MAN has been banned from driving for almost a year after failing to give information to police.

Anthony Doyley, 62, did not give information to the chief officer of police in Billericay relating to the identification of a Vauxhall Crossland driver who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence on November 9 last year.

The offence was proved via the single justice procedure and Doyley, of Etta Street, Deptford, in London, was banned from driving for nine months at Basildon Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, September 3.

 

 

He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £110.
