Two people in Benfleet have been charged with class A drug supply offences - with one pleading guilty in court.
Police stopped and searched a man as part of a patrol in the Parkfields and Queensmere area, finding a number of small bags believed to contain class A drugs last Thursday.
Officers also searched an address in connection and say they found £4,500 in cash and suspected class A drugs
A 21-year-old from London was arrested on suspicion with intent to supply a class A drug.
Mirgen Morina, 21, of Mayfield Gardens, Hanwell, in west London, is now charged with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possessing criminal property.
Morina did not enter a plea and has been remanded in custody ahead of appearing at Basildon Crown Court on November 15.
Police also stopped and searched a car in Parkfields on the same day.
The 29-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.
Alex-Vasilica Rarinca, 29, of no fixed abode, was charged with and admitted to being concerned in the supply of cocaine.
He was remanded in custody ahead of sentencing on November 11 at Basildon Crown Court.
