There are only two more episodes to go before we find out if the Faithfuls take home the mega cash prize on The Traitors.
But as series three almost comes to an end, many fans of the game show have taken to social media to share the same complaint about the “biggest weakness” this year.
Discussing the issue of contestants "not having fun" when taking part in the daily missions on Reddit, someone asked: “Has anyone noticed this season how little fun the contestants are having with the challenge element of the show? They're certainly embracing the actual traitors part of the game but the challenges seem lost on most of them.”
Traitors fans say series 3 missions 'aren't enjoyable'
This person replied on the subreddit r/TheTraitorsUK: “I think they made an effort to make a lot of the missions more divisive this year to make them more ‘interesting’ but the effect was less team camaraderie, less light hearted fun.”
One shared: “I think the mission with the creepy dolls was a very fun one to see for me because it was both sides (cabin and the castle groups) running around laughing, being silly, chanting the song, etc but otherwise yeah overall they didn’t seem to be enjoyable missions.”
A Reddit profile added: “They don’t seem to have put as much money in the pot this year. Or is that just my perception?”
In response, a Traitors viewer said: “Personally feel that the cash prize is too low of an incentive for anyone to really care or for it to feel worth it. What's the point in participating if you know you'll likely be killed before the end.”
How 'The Traitors' TV Show Works
Another account wondering why the contestants aren’t “embracing” the missions commented: “I find that, this season especially, as soon as there's a mention of a shield being available, everyone stops giving a sh*t about the money up for grabs.
“look at the boat mission - the team literally abandoned £5k because everyone wanted a shield. i like the challenges, but they need to be done in a way that the shield on offer doesn't stop the money being won.”
In agreement, someone said: “I think shields are being given out far too easily. Shields should only be given to one or two people.”
Also sharing their thoughts on the shields, a member of the subreddit explained: “The missions are the biggest weakness of the show. Players rightly point out, 'what's the point of building the prize pot if I'm not around to win it' and so prioritise shields. Another weakness of the show is the shields. There are far too many of them and they shouldn't be won openly. This gives the traitors even more information and doesn't give the faithful a chance to be strategic.”
A third posted: “I’ve also been infuriated about the lack of teamwork generally. Understood the train to an extent as a hard ask straight away but the rowing one - they all looked at prioritising the shields over the money.”
Additionally, one fan debated: “I think the challenges are massively improved this year because they are a lot more directly relevant to the traitor-faithful dynamic and allow more opportunities to faithful to spot suspicious behaviours etc. I think that's also why everyone is taking them a lot more seriously because they are mostly fighting for the shields etc, it's more consequential for the actual game play. I prefer it this way.”

This person who has also enjoyed the missions on The Traitors this year said: “The missions are much more exciting this year…but also far more competitive because there’s nearly always a shield to play for. I think they should just be an occasional bonus and the focus should be on cooperation - in contrast to the individualism of the round table when they get home.”
