A former Coronation Street star has been rushed to hospital after having several falls.

Charlie Lawson joined Coronation Street back in 1989, playing the role of Jim McDonald.

He starred on the show for 11 years before quitting the ITV soap in 2000.

Former Coronation Street star rushed to hospital after falling

Lawson took to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday (May 6) revealing he had to be rushed to hospital following several falls.

In a video, the Coronation Street star said: "Hi folks, went to physio this morning and she sent me straight to A&E, which I did.

"They examined me. I have an MRI scan and I'm sitting waiting for the results.

"They've whisked me back in for more examinations, so it's not going awfully well at the moment, dear folks.

"Anyway, I'll keep you updated.

"They put a wristband on me and all sorts of craic.

"I've fallen over twice, so something going wrong down there."

Fans rushed to the comments section to wish the former soap star well.

One person commented: "Well sounds like you’re in the right place! Hopefully they’ll sort you out quickly."
