STUNNING murals and creative pieces of art could line the streets of Laindon as part of a new trail being drawn up.
Arts project Creative Basildon is encouraging pitches and offering £7,500 to the successful bidder to “bring new life” to the area.
It is hoped the trail, funded by Arts Council England, will leave of “lasting legacy” for residents to enjoy.
The trail is being put forward following resident feedback, which asked for “a creative trail around the Laindon area that ideally brings life near Laindon Train Station”.

A spokesperson for Creative Basildon said: “Laindon Voices is all about celebrating the creativity and character of our town.
“This new commission will give local people the chance to shape something lasting for Laindon – a creative trail that brings new life to the area around the train station and leaves a legacy of public art for everyone to enjoy.
“We’re encouraging artists from all disciplines to apply now; this is a brilliant opportunity to make something ambitious and meaningful for Laindon; and our voices members are excited to see what creative ideas they could offer to the area.
“Applications close on 16th September. Local residents can help choose the commission by joining our upcoming session on 23rd September by dropping us an email or checking our Facebook event for details.”
