Several videos were shared on social media, with one fan writing: "Jessie J secret mini concert in Lakeside before her album signing. The best day! Been waiting for this moment since 2012."
Jessie J, whose real name is Jessica Cornish, was born in Chadwell Heath in London and went to Mayfield High School in LB Redbridge.
Despite this, Jessie J has referred to herself as an Essex girl.
Arriving to perform, she told fans: "Ok so the truth is, this wasn't planned. About four hours ago, I said to my team, I feel like it's a waste to go all the way to Lakeside and not sing.
"I haven't been here since I was about 15 this was my old stomping ground after school."
Another shared a video of the singer performing the song I'll Never Know Why from her latest album.
Jessie J has made a few impromptu performances recently, including one at Waterloo Station in London.
She also joined JLS on stage at the O2 as part of their The Club is Alive: The 2025 Hits Tour.
Sharing a video of the event, Jessie J wrote: "It’s official, we are now called JJLS. I finished my album signing and then I jumped on the tube, got to the O2 and walked to stage.
"Wouldn’t have missed the chance to share the stage with you guys. With all our kids watching (Sky didn’t know I was coming and it was his first late night ever. He LOVED it)
"When he saw me, he said “, Uncle Marvin Mummy singing on stage”. You boys have joined the 21 club (21 sold out 02’s), that is so amazing, so proud.
Thank you to the incredible crowd for singing along and welcoming me with so much love! My album came out this day and it was a lovely way to end my day!"
Jessie J has enjoyed getting back into performing after revealing earlier that she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Just weeks after surgery, the Price Tag singer was admitted to the hospital after developing symptoms that “pointed towards a blood clot on the lung”.
The 37-year-old shared that doctors instead discovered an “infection” and “a little fluid”, weeks after undergoing surgery for breast cancer.
Jessie said she has since discharged herself from the same hospital where she was treated after breast cancer surgery, announcing in July that she had since seen “no cancer spread”.
She said at the time how it was “frustrating” that her career plans had to change due to her surgery and hospital visits, and added that she had been “working so hard to get to this point and excited to do it all”.
The former coach on The Voice added that her visit to hospital was a “reminder to myself to slow down” even though she felt she was already at a slow pace.

The singer said: “This isn’t a speedy recovery and it isn’t meant to be.
“As an ADHD Aries, fire breathing dragon t-rex, I can do it myself, I’m always ok woman. That slow pace has been a hard reality to accept to be honest.
“I love moving and working and being up and active but I can’t be right now, and that’s what it is, and I am finding the strength knowing that all can be adjusted to align with a slower pace and the support of my very small inner support circle.”
