IT’S that time of year again – Towngate Theatre panto time!

This year’s seasonal offering is a real cracker featuring jokes galore, calamity capers and singing and dancing aplenty for all the family.

You might think you already know the story of Sleeping Beauty but you certainly won’t have seen it like this before.

This production has originality, personality and tradition in abundance and you’re guaranteed a show full of thigh-slapping, foot-tapping, barnstorming fun for all the family.

Sophie Ladds returns as the evil Carabosse and as usual, she revels in the role, having the audience cheering and jeering in equal comedic measure.

Indeed, the entire cast are superb; Jazz Cave (Aurora) and Thomas Griffiths (Prince Michael) are both impressive, while the excellent Michael Ayiotis (Jangles) and Sophia Ragavelas (Fairy Moonbeam) also excel.

Of course, no panto is complete without a dame and once again, the Towngate Theatre is graced by the presence of the fantastic Ian Hallard as Nurse Nellie, who brings much hilarity including a pun-tastic, London West End Musical themed skit, not to mention some typically outrageous outfits.

With some brilliant choreography, special effects and routines, Sleeping Beauty is a fun fusion of the contemporary and the traditional.

There’s also some great songs and dance routines to move along to.

The seasonal Towngate Theatre pantomime wouldn’t be the same without some audience participation and suffice to say, there’s plenty of that here; just be prepared for all eventualities! You have been warned!

Sleeping Beauty is a seat-filling, rip-roaring show to lift the spirits, where the feel-good factor is out in full effect.

Sleeping Beauty runs at the Towngate Theatre until January 4.
