A FAMILY man from Basildon has scooped up £1,000,000 on The National Lottery Lotto game.

The winner, who usually plays a lucky dip, scooped the huge prize after buying his ticket in store.

Thinking it was just another day to play, he was in disbelief upon realising he had won six figures, matching five numbers and the bonus ball on July 2 .

Speaking about his big win now, he said “I just can’t describe the feeling”.

He plans to buy a new home for his family and plan for their future.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, congratulated the Essex-based prize winner, saying: “What a wonderful moment this is for our winner. To win a huge £1,000,000 is certainly life changing.

“We sincerely hope that they relish this moment and enjoy their winnings – huge congratulations.”

Each week, National Lottery players help generate around £32 million for National Lottery-funded projects. With more than £52 billion raised for good causes since launch, this funds hundreds of projects in every postcode area across the UK.

Players can buy and check their tickets online by downloading the National Lottery app or at national-lottery.co.uk.

Players can also buy and check tickets in retail.
