AN inquest date has been set for the son of 80s pop legend Paul Hardcastle after he died last month in a tragic motorcycle crash.
Paul Hardcastle paid heart-felt tribute to his beloved son Paul Jr, who he said had just signed his first record deal, after he is believed to have died in police pursuit near Ongar in Essex last month.
Essex Police released a statement after a man in his 30s died following a crash with a van on the A414 following a police chase January 12 just after 6.30pm, the van driver was arrested and subsequently released.
The police said the motorcyclist was being pursued by officers after they had failed to stop on Ongar High Street earlier that day.
An inquest opening date has now been set for Thursday (February 5) at Chelmsford Coroners Court.

Paul Hardcastle has paid tribute to his son who was a professional saxophonist and music producer via Instagram, saying he hoped to release an album of his recordings.
His statement reads: "Gonna miss him so so much, Paul had some difficulty sometimes with his mental health, but did try his very best and not be down, but like so many people he struggled with some of life's hassles.
"He had just signed his first record deal underlies own name which showed that he didn't need to rely on dad, and that was a massive proud moment for me hopefully there may just be enough recordings to leave you all with an album and his name will live on Rip Jnr.
"'See you on the other side' - Lotsa luv Dad".
