A SEAFRONT casino has fully re-opened following a major £9.8million refurbishment.
Genting Casino Westcliff reopened its doors on Friday with an appearance from former Towie star Mark Wright and DJ Tony Roberts.
It marked the culmination of a 15-month transformation that has revitalised one of the area’s most-loved entertainment venues.
The extensive works began in January 2025 following the discovery of RAAC in the casino’s roof.
Genting committed £7.2m to fully replace the roof structure, alongside a further £2.6m investment to deliver a comprehensive interior refurbishment designed to enhance the venue’s hospitality, gaming and entertainment offering.

“I’d like to thank our loyal customers for their patience and support throughout the works. Keeping the venue open during the construction was very important to us, and we’re grateful that so many guests continued to enjoy everything Westcliff has to offer along the way.
“The finished result is fantastic. It’s still the Westcliff our customers know and love, but elevated with a beautiful new interior, improved facilities and even more space for entertainment, dining and gaming.
“We were delighted to celebrate the reopening with special guests on Friday, just a snippet of the exciting lineup of entertainment we will be able to put on in our fantastic new venue.”
The project was carefully phased to allow the casino to remain open throughout the construction period, ensuring guests could continue to enjoy Westcliff’s gaming, food and drink and popular live entertainment programme.
The refurbishment unveiled a contemporary new lounge bar, revitalised entertainment space, and an updated food and drink offer with a fresh menu — collectively setting the stage for an enhanced guest experience and a new chapter for the venue.
A new Electronic Gaming Lounge has also been introduced, featuring additional slots and e-tables, while the redesigned layout now includes two dedicated reception areas – one serving the hospitality side of the venue and one for the gaming floor – helping streamline arrivals and improve the overall guest experience.
