Essex drinkers could soon see new faces behind the bar, as Greene King seeks new tenants for several of its county pubs.

The brewery and pub operator is offering opportunities for aspiring landlords to take on beloved local venues across the region.

Four Greene King pubs in Essex are currently seeking new operators under the company’s Hive Pubs franchise model.

The Flyer

Located in north-west Chelmsford, The Flyer is a family-friendly pub set to undergo a full refurbishment.

The revamp will include exterior upgrades, an improved games area, and expanded patio space to boost year-round appeal.

Sport will remain a central feature, with upgraded screens supporting themed nights, live events, and community gatherings.

Greene King is looking for an "energetic, entrepreneurial" operator with the creativity to build strong community connections and drive sales through entertainment and local partnerships.

The Flyer is well positioned to attract families, sports teams, community groups, and bookings for special occasions.

The Globe

Another Chelmsford-based site, The Globe, currently operates as a Hive Pub and enjoys a 70/30 split in favour of drink sales.

Greene King describes it as an ideal space for social drinks, televised sport, live entertainment, and classic pub food.

The company says that an "experienced pub or hospitality manager" would be well-suited to the role, with the ability to create memorable customer experiences and foster community spirit.

The Victory Inn

In Rochford, The Victory Inn is due for a major upgrade that will refresh interiors, improve the darts area, and transform the garden.

Plans include new decking, a covered pergola, and upgraded play equipment to appeal to families and sports fans alike.

The site is best suited to someone eager to be an integral part of the community and who brings entrepreneurial energy to a wet-led business.

Woodlands Edge

Located in South Ockenden, Woodlands Edge will also benefit from a refurbishment.

The pub features two gardens, a function room, and dedicated dining and sports spaces, offering plenty of potential for growth.

Greene King is looking for someone with hospitality experience, and local knowledge is a big plus.
