AN electric motorbike was seized, and a man has been arrested after it was seen being ridden dangerously at an Essex beauty spot.

Police patrolling Cavey Lake saw the electric motorbike carrying two people being ridden "in a dangerous manner" at 2.50pm on Friday.

The bike was stopped "due to concerns for public safety," and the two occupants were removed.

The rider, a 23‑year‑old man from Dagenham, was searched and found to be in possession of a Class B controlled drug, Essex Police say.

He was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.

The electric motorbike, identified as a 'Talaria Sting Torp', was seized.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "While in custody, the rider was issued with a formal community resolution for drug possession and reported for driving offences.

"The pillion passenger was searched at the scene; no items were found. He was released without charge."
