A much-loved pub has been put up for sale in a decision described as "difficult" by its owners.
The Haystack on Furtherwick Road, Canvey, has been closed since a fire broke out on February 17.
The blaze, caused by an accidental heating fault, left the building with widespread smoke damage.
A spokesman for Greene King said: "The Haystack has been closed since February this year and, having explored all the options available to us, we have made the difficult decision to sell the pub."
Bosses had previously announced plans to show Sky Sports and TNT Sports games, as well as the creation of a new kitchen to deliver a "proper pub grub" menu.
However, owners Greene King confirmed today that the pub has been closed since the fire.
