A man has been jailed for inflicting grievous bodily harm (GBH) by driving into another man’s vehicle amid a south Essex land dispute.
Oliver Hale, 27, of Blackmore Road in Brentwood, crashed into his victim’s Mitsubishi L200 truck, causing serious injury to his pelvis.
He was sentenced to 40 months in prison at Basildon Crown Court on Monday (April 27).
He appeared before Judge Richard Conley to be sentenced for three offences: inflicting GBH without intent, using threatening words or behaviour to provoke fear of violence, and criminal damage.
All three offences were directed at the same male victim.
Essex Police said he waged the campaign of offending amid a dispute over the sale of a plot of land in Doddinghurst.
On October 9, Hale threatened unlawful violence against the man.
Then, on October 16, he was wounded the man and caused £10,000 worth of damage to his truck.
Judge Conley sentenced Hale to 40 months for the GBH, with two months concurrent for the threatening behaviour and three months concurrent for the criminal damage.
He was also slapped with a ten-year restraining order banning him from contacting the victim or his family or going to any place he believed them to live.
