High-powered e-scooters have been seized by police after illegal riding in south Essex.
Officers confiscated three vehicles in West Road, Rochford during plain-clothed patrols in response to complaints about illegal e-bike and e-scooter use in the area.
The three scooters were seized for being ridden without insurance.
David Thompson, neighbourhood inspector, said: "We have received reports of e-scooters and e-bikes being ridden inconsiderately and even dangerously and we are determined to tackle their irresponsible and illegal use.
"They are often ridden on pavements and this increases the likelihood of collision with a pedestrian, which could result in serious injury or worse."

Mr Thompson clarified the law around e-scooters, stating they are only legal on public roads if part of a Government-regulated scheme.
Privately-owned scooters are only permitted on private land.
E-bikes are legal as long as they cannot exceed 15.5mph and must satisfy the legal criteria to be used on a highway, including the rider being insured.
