The front page of The Echo newspaper with a story about Sonny Green featured in the Britain’s Got Talent final last night on ITV.

In a video tape before the Southend man’s wholesome performance, Sonny was seen talking about the golden buzzers he received in the first audition and the one in the semi-final from Simon Cowell.

This was before an image of The Echo appeared on screen with Sonny stating, "I feel like I’ve got the whole of Southend and Essex behind me.”

Sonny produced another deeply moving performance, with Simon expressing how the 31-year-old had a ‘real shot of winning.’

The Southender, who works as a market trader, did Essex proud but finished in sixth place while The Hawkstone Farmers Choir were crowned winners of the show with an original song.

Sonny’s journey to the final at Hammersmith Apollo started with his now-viral poem What England Means To Me, which previously featured during London’s New Year’s Eve fireworks.

A replay of The Britain's Got Talent with Sonny's performance and the clip of him talking about the support from Essex can be found on the ITVX player.
