The Only Way Is Essex star (Towie) Jake Hall died after colliding with a glass door in Spain, an inquest in east London heard.
The 35-year-old, from Buckhurst Hill in Epping, died on May 6 in Santa Margarita, Majorca.
An inquest opened into his death at East London Coroner’s Court in Walthamstow on Tuesday (June 16).
Coroner’s officer Jean Smyth said: “The circumstances of this death referral were that he was repatriated from Spain having passed away in Majorca, following what we currently understand to be a collision with a glass door.”
A post-mortem examination was conducted at East Ham Mortuary but the cause of death was given as not yet ascertained.
Area coroner Nadia Persaud made his family “interested persons” in the inquest, giving them the right to interrogate evidence before the inquest and question any witnesses called to testify.
She asked that the court be made aware of any concerns Mr Hall’s friends and family might have about his death.
From the Spanish authorities, Ms Persaud asked for copies of police reports, witness statements, a post-mortem report, and toxicology report.
A provisional inquest date was set for December 2026 but Ms Persaud warned: “I put a caveat on that date as obtaining reports from overseas can take some time.”
Mr Hall is survived by his daughter, River, with former Real Housewives of Cheshire star Missé Beqiri.
His funeral took place at St Mary’s Church in Wanstead, east London.
Boxer Derek Chisora and members of David Beckham's family including his mother Sandra and sister Joanne were also among the hundreds of mourners who attended the funeral.
Mr Hall was best known for his almost decade-long stint on Towie, having joined in 2015 and quit in 2024, and also ran a menswear brand called By Jake Hall.
