Chicking set to open new restaurant in Wickford, Essex

International fried chicken brand Chicking is set to open a new restaurant in Wickford at 2 Market Road on Saturday.

The launch marks a further step in the company’s rapid UK expansion, with the brand aiming to reach 70 outlets nationwide by the end of 2026.

A spokesman for Chicking said: "We are delighted to bring Chicking to Wickford and introduce our unique offering to the local community.

To celebrate the opening, Chicking will offer its Royal Crunchy Chicken Burger for just £1 on Saturday, July 11, from 12pm to 4pm.

Chicking was founded in Dubai and now operates more than 400 locations across 30 countries.

The new Wickford store will become part of the brand's growing UK network, which currently includes more than 30 restaurants - 26 of which are located in England.

The company has also announced plans to open three more outlets in Scotland within the next month, including locations in Hamilton and Stirling.

Chicking first entered the UK market in 2017 and has since built a loyal customer base.

The brand is known for its fresh chicken, marinated for up to 12 hours and cooked to order.

Menu options include original, spicy, and grilled chicken, as well as burgers, wraps, and family meals.

The company began its UK journey in west London, with stores in Acton and Marylebone.

It has since expanded to operate 24 outlets across the country, with additional sites planned in East Ham and Liverpool.
