Four men have been charged following an investigation into a suspected burglary conspiracy.

Bromley Smith, 21, of Crown Lane, Romford, has been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to steal a motor vehicle.

Alfred Farey, 25, of Willowherb Walk, Romford, Taylor Martin, 22, of Blandford Drive, Coventry, and Fletcher Darnell, 20, of Larchwood Close, Southend on Sea, have each been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary.

They appeared at Southend Magistrates' Court on Monday, July 13, following an investigation by Southend CID into a series of offences in 2023 and 2024, including burglaries, attempted burglaries and motor vehicle thefts in south Essex and East London.

All four are next due to appear at Basildon Crown Court on August 14.

Detective Inspector Stuart Mitchell said: "Burglary is an intrusive crime that can leave victims feeling unsafe in their own homes, and we understand the lasting impact it can have on individuals and families.

"That is why tackling burglary remains a priority for us.

"We are committed to pursuing those responsible, using intelligence-led policing and targeted activity to prevent offences, identify suspects and bring offenders to justice.

"We support victims by ensuring they receive the help, advice and updates they need throughout our investigations.

"We want every victim to know that they will be listened to, treated with empathy and kept at the heart of our response."
