A couple in Rayleigh who first met as teenagers have celebrated 63 years of marriage with a surprise anniversary celebration organised by staff at a care home.
Residents and staff at Rosedale Court Care Home came together to honour Anne and her husband Roy, creating a special garden event to mark the milestone.
The team transformed part of the garden into a private anniversary setting, complete with a decorated marquee, flowers and elegant table settings.
The couple then enjoyed a romantic lunch together surrounded by family, as the celebration recognised a remarkable love story stretching back more than six decades.

Anne met Roy while they were both working at R.A. Jones in Southend and the pair began courting when Anne was 15 years old.
They married at Holy Trinity Church in Southchurch and later settled in Eastwood, where they raised their family.
Over the years, they welcomed three children, John, Julie and Jo, before eventually moving to Rayleigh in 2020.
