A popular restaurant chain has revealed plans to open a new branch at Lakeside Shopping Centre.

Bill’s Restaurant, a UK-wide chain known for its all-day dining, has submitted plans to Thurrock Council for a new venue at the shopping centre in West Thurrock Way.

The proposal includes an external winterised terrace and new signage at unit 618, near Hollywood Bowl and TGI Friday’s.

A planning statement said: "The proposed development will bring a vacant unit which falls within the wider Lakeside Shopping Centre, back into an active use.

"The proposals will result in active frontages and the new winterised seating area will ensure Bill’s are able to deliver greater services to the local community throughout the year.

"The proposed signage is appropriate in scale and in its method of illumination, reflective of signage seen at adjacent businesses.

"It reflects Bill’s fresh update their branding."

The terrace would feature a black framework with glazed panels, artificial hanging plants, and a retractable fabric roof, allowing it to be used year-round.

Planners said the development would give the restaurant a refreshed appearance in line with Bill’s latest branding.

According to the planning documents, the unit is currently vacant.

Bill’s has three other locations across Essex, in Braintree, Chelmsford, and Colchester, and operates around 50 restaurants across the UK.

The chain is known for serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner.

Environmental Health have already responded to the plans with no objections.

Thurrock Council will have the final say on the plans.
