Animal lovers and shoppers are being invited to the opening of a new pet, lifestyle and garden destination in Wickford.
A collection of independent businesses has joined forces at Alpha Garden Centre to create a new community hub offering pet supplies, canine services, gardening products and personalised gifts.
The official launch will take place from 11am on Saturday, August 29, with families and their dogs invited to explore the new facilities.
Among the new arrivals is The Pet Base, a specialist pet supply store offering nutrition advice, natural treats and equipment for dogs.
Visitors will also be able to use a new all-weather indoor dog arena designed for training, play and socialisation throughout the year.
Professional canine care services will also be available, including massage therapy and ultrasonic teeth cleaning provided by a registered veterinary nurse.
The development includes Personal and Paws, a custom design and print business allowing customers to transform photographs of their pets into artwork printed on items such as mugs, clothing and tote bags.

Meanwhile, The Garden Larder will offer outdoor plants, gardening supplies and a range of food products including fruit, vegetables, eggs, honey, jams and Rossi ice cream.
The new additions join the site's established aquatics store, reptile specialist and The Lillies Cafe, creating what operators hope will become a regional destination for pet owners and families.
A spokesman for the new businesses said: "Alpha Garden Centre is already a wonderful local spot, and we saw a brilliant opportunity to bring our independent services together under one roof.
"Whether visitors are looking for qualification-backed nutrition, an indoor arena to play out of the rain, custom pet artwork, or garden displays before grabbing a coffee next door, we hope we’ve built a really convenient spot for the whole community and we’re excited to open our doors together this Saturday."
The opening event will run until 3pm and organisers are encouraging residents to drop in and see what the new hub has to offer.
