A popular food festival in Southend is set to return this week after a successful debut event.

The Southend Food and Drink Festival will run from October 23 to November 1, bringing together hospitality businesses across the city centre for a 10-day celebration of food and drink.

Restaurants, cafés, bars and other venues will offer exclusive deals, curated menus and special promotions, giving visitors the chance to discover new favourites and revisit popular spots.

Festival-goers will also be entered into a prize draw including restaurant vouchers, gift boxes and activities, with last year's event handing out more than £700 worth of prizes.

A spokesman for Southend City BID said: "The Southend Food and Drink Festival is celebrating the fantastic hospitality businesses that help make the city centre a popular destination."
