EGYPT are the latest act to make a stop at Billericay’s very own blues oasis on Saturday afternoon.
The band play Blues at the Farm, at Barleylands Social Club, with a heavy brand of blues and rock certain to shake the sand out of anybody’s ears.
Egypt began life in London in 1987, originally as a four-piece metal band, recording their first album for HTD Records and touring the UK the following year.
They split soon after, leaving Alan Fish and Eric Chipulina to carry on through several line-up changes, until Peter Correa joined in 1991.
Following a long break, they recorded their second album in 1994 for HTD, Preserving the Dead, which reflected the bluesier style their music had evolved into.
A third CD arrived in 2004, Midnight Sun, this time for Blues Matters Records and, in between regular gigs in Spain and Germany, they are currently working on a fourth.
Admission to the show is £5 for members, £5.50 non-members.
Doors open at 2pm. For more information, visit www.bluesatthefarm.co.uk
