A DEVELOPER has revealed fresh plans to build a block of flats just a month after their previous plan was thrown out.

Sandhurst New Homes has applied to Rochford District Council to build 19 flats in Bull Lane, Rayleigh. The plan involves demolishing two bungalows and building a part two-storey, part three-storey building with five one-bedroom and 14 two-bedroom flats.

There would be access on to Highfield Crescent and a parking area with 12 spaces.

The previous plan by Sandhurst was for just 14 flats. It was rejected by district councillors in December last year, despite being recommended for approval by planning officers.

Councillors were concerned about the design and size of the building and a lack of amenity space.

In their new design statement, the developers said that these problems have been addressed.

Neighbours will shortly be informed and asked for their views.
