ERROL Linton’s Blues Vibe bring a Caribbean flavour to the New Crawdaddy Blues Club, Crays Hill, tomorrow night.
Three times winner of Blues Harp Player of the year, Errol and his band play eclectic British blues, but with a taste of West Indies heritage.
Singer, songwriter, harp player and bandleader, Errol carries the legacy of Little Walter, Junior Wells and Sonny Boy Williamson into the 21st century, moving the genre forward by combining Fifties Chicago blues with gentle Jamaican rhythms.
“I picked up a harp one day, started blowing on it and never stopped,” says Brixton-born Errol. “The harp led me to the blues, not the other way round.” Errol cut his teeth playing in smoky bars and clubs around the capital, as well as busking during the daytime on the London Underground.
Admission is £7 for the gig, at the Belvedere, in Hardings Elms Road, and doors open at 8.15pm.
