THE Marrakesh Express pulls into the Touchline, Hullbridge, on Friday night.
Performing the music of Crosby Stills Nash and Young, and the Byrds, this band is a spin off from Eighties favourites Diesel Park West. The original band’s main influences were plucked from the States, particularly the West Coast sounds of the Sixties, Moby Grape, Buffalo Springfield and Love.
Diesel Park West have released ten albums and 14 singles over the past 22 years, spanning 1987’s debut When the Hoodoo Comes to 2007’s All the Myths on Sunday.
The Marrakesh Express also follows the Californian route, playing favourites such as Mr Tambourine Man and Turn! Turn! Turn!, as well as original material.
Doors at the Touchline, at Hullbridge Sports and Social Club, in Lower Road, open at 8pm. Entrance is £10. Call 01702 547556.
