I have some sympathy for the man who chose to eat at a seafront cafe (June 17).
The owner made a big fuss when he was 50p short to pay the bill. I would have refused to pay £2.55 for a cup of tea and a slice of bread and butter, £1.50 would have been ample.
This is probably the reason most of us never buy anything on the seafront, although I am sure not all traders are the same.
