I disagree with M Wall’s desire to rid Southend town centre of pigeons.
Birds like these have always given a commercial area natural character. I couldn’t imagine walking through a town without seeing these familiar creatures.
These birds may be seen as a pest by some, but they have proved themselves useful in the past with their services as carrier pigeons.
The wood pigeon, displays a simple beauty through its iridescent feathers. Let our pigeons remain welcome.
