Following the shooting of the film which allegedly showed cruelty to animals in the Great British Circus, only one worker was sacked in the subsequent investigation.

The film showed the workers taking it in turns to beat the elephants, so why weren’t the others sacked?

I am also appalled at the apathy of this government, and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, who were lax on animal rights legislation.

These animals are traumatised and associate applause with pain and brutal training methods.

As for Martin Lacey, who says it has been scientifically proved that animals are used to travel, my retort is they are only used to travel in the wild.

They cannot be rehabilitated to that ideal state, but they can be released into sanctuaries with their own kind.
