Southend United boss David Webb is set to hold showdown talks with bad boy defender Leo Roget.

The 23-year-old was sent off for the third time in his Blues career on Saturday as Conference League Kingstonian sent the Shrimpers spinning out of the FA Cup third round.

And Webb admitted he needs to address the situation urgently. "I need to sit Leo down and have a talk with him," said the Shrimpers chief, who wouldn't reveal if he planned to fine the defender.

"We need to discuss what happened at the weekend as well as Leo's overall disciplinary record."

Roget, who now faces a three match suspension, has picked up 33 cautions during the last five seasons at Southend and received a staggering 12 yellow cards last term.

He has already clocked up seven bookings this campaign and has been suspended six times during his Roots Hall career.

Webb has tried to get Roget, who is on a week-to-week contract, to commit himself to Blues, but the defender, in his tenth year at Roots Hall, has failed to sign a new deal.
