Rochford residents can sign up to an online council scheme to remind them to vote in the forthcoming elections.

By signing up to Rochford District Council’s Election Alarm Clock, people can get email alerts and information about the upcoming elections.

The council is reminding residents that April 20 is the final day to register to vote in the local elections on May 6 and the expected general election.

April 20 is also the closing date for registering to have a postal votes or change your postal or proxy voting arrangements.

Registering to vote gives residents the chance to elect your their local council representatives, as well as who represents them in the UK Parliament.

To sign up for the service, visit: www.rochford.gov.uk/electionalarmclock, fill in your details and click “submit”.
