It seems a frequent question asked during the election was how much the European Union costs us.

Yet again the old red herring is still used “three million jobs depend on the EU and we must be in it”.

Tony Blair said back in 2000: “Of course we could survive outside the European Union and probably get access to the single market, as Norway and Switzerland have done.

They are in Europe, but not in the European Union.”

Four million jobs in Europe depend on exports to Britain. As Britain has a large deficit with EU trade, it’s unlikely trade would suffer if we left the EU.

It seems we have been bamboozled for years and paid billions to the EU when they need us more than we need them.
