AN Essex policeman quit after having indecent chats online with a 13-year-old girl.
Russell West, 26, who lives in Rochford, sent sexually explicit messages to the schoolgirl, the High Court heard.
Temporary judge Michael O’Grady placed West on the sex offenders' register.
West admitted engaging in indecent chat with the schoolgirl, who lived in Scotland.
The Crown accepted a not guilty plea on charges of engaging in conversations of a sexual nature with a 14-year-old girl.
West will be sentenced next month.
