A visit to a local store revealed an absence of trousers with the correct leg measurement, and a visit to another store in Basildon was equally fruitless.

Having been advised a delivery was imminent, I was advised to ring in a few days to see if it had arrived.

I rang, to be told supplies had not been delivered.

Frustrated just a little, I asked the assistant if she could take my phone number and call me when supplies arrived. Unfortunately, I was told this could not be done due to the Privacy Act.

Can someone explain to me why such a simple request cannot be entertained due to yet another piece of mindless bureaucratic legislation that successfully strangles the innocent needs of the consumer to make a purchase without spending endless hours going from store to store only to discover that supplies aren’t available?

Is someone pulling my 31in inside leg.
